1919 / A long metal-working history…
In 1919, Joseph Dixneuf started out as a metalsmith, repairing motorbikes, bicycles, sewing machines etc. in La Romagne (Maine-et-Loire). His main activity was working with sheet metal and steel to repair farming tools. He later passed the business on to Joseph and Alice, his children, who steered the company towards metalsmithing and ironwork.
1963 / Construction of the first building
Joseph (junior) Dixneuf builds the first premises (now the company’s headquarters)! This marks the beginning of a new era, with the company specialising in the production of garden accessories, coat racks and the first andirons and companion sets.
1990 / Specialisation in wood heating
When Colette Brin (born Dixneuf) and her husband Robert Brin took over the business in 1986, production activities expanded. Sheet-metal work was added to the ironwork activity. Dixneuf mastered working with steel, stainless steel, and brass – from design to finishing. They developed, cut, rolled, forged, folded, stamped, welded and painted…
Having made this expertise available to customers, they then naturally turned to Dixneuf for new products. This marked the beginning of the specialisation in wood heating and industrialisation. The growth of DIY retail stores and fireplace installers led the company to specialise in fireplace accessories (andirons, fireguards, companion sets, etc.) and later in technical parts (connectors, air diffusion grilles, stove components, etc.).

From 1990 / A new momentum
In 1991, an exclusive sales force was created to drive national growth and the first partnerships with major DIY chains were signed in 1992. This led to expanded production capacity, including the construction of a new factory in the La Peltière industrial area in La Romagne (Maine-et-Loire), followed by a broader product range through strong partnerships.
In 1999, the acquisition of the company Desmoulin, specialising in bellows and wooden fireplace accessories, further strengthened the fireplace product offering.

Since 2013 / Serving wood heating
Now led, since 2013, by the fourth generation of the Dixneuf family (Raphaële Lucas and her brother Manuel Brin), the company continues to evolve: the creation of the Wood Heating Experts network, investments in robotic machinery, obtaining OFG (“Origine France Garantie”) certification, construction of new storage buildings, launch of Integral Pro (the first online ordering, advice and service platform in the wood-heating sector), and the opening of CAMPUS Dixneuf (the first training centre dedicated to wood heating professions)…
All of these milestones have contributed to building a company firmly focused on service and innovation, proudly growing alongside its customers for over 100 years!
